Cocktail Weenies are a Black Hole of Despair

By 12:59:00 PM

It started with cocktail weenies. I'm having a Halloween party, and I saw the picture with the cocktail weenies in my blog feed, and I was all like, yay, weenies, so I clicked it.

A new window popped open and much to my surprise, the weenie recipe was not there. Instead, there was a paragraph describing the weenies and asking me to "Click Here" for details. So I clicked, because I wanted details.

I was taken to another blog, where, once more, I had to "Click Here" to be taken to the blog which housed this elusive weenie recipe that apparently has several levels of Internet security so as not to be attempted by someone who is not at all serious about weenies. Well, let me just tell you, I am pretty serious about  weenies. I have been teased with the prospect of fabulous and simple finger food.

I clicked the link, and yet another window opened up to something called a "Linky Party".  What fresh hell? People have parties wherein pages and pages links to other content is stored? It was a veritable smorgasbord of "click here's" I may have growled like a feral dog at this point.

I spent the next five minutes trying to find the stupid link with the recipe for the weenies that had been pictured in my blog feed, when finally, I just closed all 853 windows that were open to a plethora of blogs that provided absolutely zero useful information but were still making money because I kept "clicking here" and providing them with traffic, and Google'd the damn recipe.

Thank you allrecipes.com for being so transparent and providing me with this lovely recipe in one click. It's almost like you're professionals or something.
